  1. Surf's Up! allows Windows users with a supported 
  2. sound card or the Windows' speaker driver to attach 
  3. sounds to their icons. While there are other programs 
  4. that attach sounds to Windows' events 
  5. (dialog boxes, etc.), they don't allow you to attach 
  6. sounds to individual programs.  PC users have been 
  7. jealous of the Macintosh's ability to use sounds in 
  8. a wide variety of events.  When Microsoft came out 
  9. with the multimedia standard for Windows, 
  10. expectations were high, but reality soon showed that 
  11. sound support in Windows was minimal to say the least.
